Multi-Agency CSA training for Health, Education, Police and Social Care professionals
Target Group: Groups 3 - 5 (Health Level 3) Members of the workforce who work predominantly with children, young people and/or their parents/carers and who could potentially contribute to assessing, planning, intervening and reviewing the needs of a child and parenting capacity where there are safeguarding concerns.
Aims & Objectives:
What happens at the paediatric assessment that takes place after a child makes an allegation of sexual abuse or the genitalia need to be examined for other reasons such as a suspicion or allegation of FGM

Course Outline
1.30pm: Introduction and Launch
1.45pm: Briefing on the Paediatric CSA Assessment from the child, accompanying parent/carer and social worker perspective. Details on when to refer for an assessment and the benefits will be covered.
3.15pm: Training on aiding the justice system and legal processes in CSA cases, delivered by a Senior Barrister specialising in serious and complex child abuse including CSA and child advocacy.
This 3 hour briefing will explain what it is like for the child and the accompanying parent/carer and social worker to attend the holistic paediatric assessment and what the examination actually consists of.
We will detail when to refer a child/young person for an assessment and the benefits to the child/young person and their family.
We will address your experiences of attending such an assessment and answer your questions
