Understanding Analysis and Professional Curiosity in Reference to a Local Child Sexual Abuse Review
An on-line workshop to examine informed approaches when working with young people and how to differentiate between harmful sexual behaviour (HSB), child sexual exploitation (CSE) and child sexual abuse (CSA).

Aims & Objectives: Participants on this Part- day workshop will be:
- Exploring what is professional curiosity, how to exercise it and what can hinder this practice;
- Understanding the role of systems theory and trauma informed approaches when working with children and young people;
- Examine the differences and similarities between child sexual abuse, sexually harmful behaviours and child sexual exploitation;
- Exploring analysis in practice and some of the tools that can assist;
- Examining the role of case recordings to help understand a child’s situation.
- Examining the role of supervision within the analysis process.
Target Group: Groups 3 - 5 Members of the workforce who work predominantly with children, young people and/or their parents/carers and who could potentially contribute to assessing, planning, intervening and reviewing the needs of a child and parenting capacity where there are safeguarding concerns
