Honour Based Violence, Faith Based Abuse and Forced Marriage
Increase awareness and understanding amongst professionals, in identifying and responding to harmful practices.
Target group: Groups 2-4 Those in regular contact or have a period of intense but irregular contact, with children, young people and/or parents/carers including professionals from health, education, police and children’s social care; those who work with complex cases and social work staff responsible for co-ordinating assessments of children in need. Professional advisors, named and designated lead professionals, staff who may be in a position to identify concerns about maltreatment.
Aims & Objectives: By the end of this one day course participants will have:
- Awareness of the legislative and policy frame work for prevention of harmful practices with special reference to HBV FM & FBA
- Increase in the number of women at risk being identified by front line service providers as at risk of harmful practices as a result of the training.
- An increase in the number of women and girls at risk that are identified, supported and referred to Ascent Ending harmful practices partnership
