Child A - a Child Safeguarding Practice Review (CSPR)
Detail:
Child A and his family lived in Greenwich. Child A was fatally stabbed in September 2019, in a different London borough, after responding to a message on social media to meet some friends.
Following Child A’s murder, the Greenwich Safeguarding Children Partnership (GSCP) commissioned a Child Safeguarding Practice Review (CSPR). This short film discusses the complexities of Contextual Safeguarding, in particular around criminal exploitation, including the events leading up to Child A’s murder; highlighting the importance of effective inter-agency working to safeguard children and young people.
You will have the opportunity to hear from Child A’s mother and gain insight into the devastation of serious youth violence and its on-going impact.
Ultimately the GSCP aims to share the learning to prevent this tragedy from taking place again.
