Social Media and Mental Health

With increasing numbers of children and young people having a social media profile, often from a young age, we look at the associated benefits of social media as well as risks and the potential impact they may have on their well-being.

Aims & Objectives: This 2.5 hour workshop aims to discuss strategies that can be put in place, and resources that can be used, to help young people if social media is having a negative impact on their lives.

Target Group: Groups 2 - 5  Members of the workforce who work predominantly with children, young people and/or their parents/carers and who could potentially contribute to assessing, planning, intervening and reviewing the needs of a child and parenting capacity where there are safeguarding concerns
