Providing Effective Early Help for Children, Young People and Their Families

To help practitioners within Greenwich to put into practice early help policy in order to improve outcomes for children, young people and their families. It will give practitioner’s both a greater understanding of national policy and the opportunity to develop their practice skills.

Target Group: Members of the workforce who work predominantly with children, young people and/or their parents/carers and who could potentially contribute to assessing, planning, intervening and reviewing the needs of a child and parenting capacity where there are safeguarding concerns

Aims & Objectives: By the end of this half day course the participants will be able to: 

  • Identify key messages from research in terms of what works in early help
  • Understand the Early Help approach in Greenwich
  • Understand how Assessments and Team Around the Child, can support the provision of early help for children, young people and their families.
  • Greater knowledge of support and services within Greenwich that can assist practitioners
  • Recognise the barriers to providing effective early help and how these can be addressed.
