A two part interactive workshop to support professionals
Before applying for this workshop, please note the following conditions:
Safeguarding Children Working Together is usually a whole day course, we understand that webinars can be quite demanding so we intend to spread the learning over two sessions, with exercises to complete at home / in the office (beforehand, in-between and after). Both webinar sessions will be a maximum 3 hours in length.
Please only apply if you can attend both sessions.
- We will send pre-course information, including an exercise to complete, prior to the first training session (this will be sent via email pror to the course).
- After the first session we will send exercises for you to complete before the second session.
You MUST attend both sessions and complete the evaluation to achieve accreditation and receive your certificate.
Target group: Groups 2-4 Those in regular contact or have a period of intense but irregular contact, with children, young people and/or parents/carers including all health clinical staff, who may be in a position to identify concerns about maltreatment. Members of the workforce who work predominantly with children, young people and/or their parents/carers and who could potentially contribute to assessing, planning, intervening and reviewing the needs of a child and parenting capacity where there are safeguarding concerns. Members of the workforce who have particular responsibilities in relation to undertaking section 47 enquiries, including professionals from health, education, police and children’s social care; those who work with complex cases and social work staff responsible for co-ordinating assessments of children in need.
Aims & Objectives: By the end of this Two Part virtual workshop participants will be able to:
- Describe inter-agency roles and responsibilities for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Demonstrate skills in effective collaboration between agencies to achieve intended outcomes for the child and family members
- Understand the protocols and procedures to be followed, including information sharing and recording across professional boundaries
- Understand agency roles in and contribution to information gathering and analysis for the purposes of family assessment within government guidance
- Understand in some depth the legislative and administrative framework within which children’s welfare is safeguarded and promoted
