The Royal Borough of Greenwich, Children's Services and the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) are jointly delivering training to agencies, providers and carers who work with and care for Children in our Care.
The purpose of the training is to raise awareness in the following areas;
- Safeguarding and the link between Missing and Exploitation
- The importance of information sharing
- Risk based decisions
- Prevention
- Return home interviews
- The criminalisation of children
The session will start with a presention by the MPS Central Explotation Team - Children Missing from Care and The Philomena Protocol.
The session will be co-presented by DI Jo Clark from the MPS Central Exploitation Team and retired Police Inspector Paul Adams, who is now the Director of the charity, Power of Parenting. Paul set the chairty up after a decade of fostering children. During his time as a Foster Carer, Paul identified that more equal opportunity should be afforded to children in our care. Ten years on, the chairty have supported many care experienced children and work closely with the MPS to bring greater understanding of these children to frontline policing,
There will be input from the Royal Borough of Greenwich Missing Coordinator, Danielle Roberts and, the MPS Missing Coordinator, Bernadette Gay.
We are encouraging bookings from:
- Children's Homes
- Supported accommodation providers
- Foster Carers
All levels of staff are encouraged to attend.
The sessions are free of charge and attendees will recieve a certificate of attendance.
